| Clinical Laboratory Supervisor - Cambridge Our client is a leading global biotechnology company. This position is within a dynamic, highly specialised, and rapidly growing clinical laboratory. The laboratory provides sample accessioning and laboratory testing in support of commercial testing programs. The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will supervise a team that is responsible for sample accessioning and antibody testing within the Clinical Specialty Laboratory. Key responsibilities: To enter sample data from commercial registry programs and clinical trial programs in a specialised laboratory information system. Supervise analytical testing for clinical studies. Monitor lab efficiencies and quality as they relate to sample receipt, database entry, and reagent inventory. Maintain the laboratory equipment according to SOPs. Ship samples for testing to the company’s US Laboratory and other CRO sites. Supervise and provide development opportunities for staff. Travel to other company sites (US & Europe) as required. This position will require contact with a variety of sites including hospitals, reference laboratories, doctor's offices, doctors and nurses. Knowledge and Skills required: Degree or higher in medical laboratory science with in-depth experience of working in a clinical laboratory. Registered with the HPC - Health Professions Council, or be eligible to register. Proven experience of working in a clinical laboratory including working with a laboratory information database. Thorough understanding of laboratory regulatory standards, accessioning, and immunoassay and ELISA testing, as well as laboratory information medical systems. Experience in supervising staff in a clinical setting. Good skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Key Competencies: Excellent relationship building skills are necessary as the candidate will be required to interact with other sites and contacts outside the laboratory. People management skills will be essential as the role involves supervising a group. Good organizational skills are necessary to manage large number of samples as well as complex testing.
